Gallery Beginnings... In need of a permanent place to display local art, the idea of an area artist's cooperative was conceived. A core group of ten artists began meeting and discussing the creation of a fine art and fine craft gallery, operated by the artist who would display their work. The cooperative with a membership of 25 artist, was incorporated as a non-profit organization on September 18, 2000. To celebrate the opening of a new business in Anniston, a ribbon cutting ceremony, arranged by the SPIRIT OF ANNISTON, was held on November 9, 2000. the doors of the gallery at 921 Noble Street were officially opened on November 10, 2000 with a well attended grand opening reception. |
The Gallery features two and three
dimensional original works of art.
Area Artists Works Include: Watercolors, Oils, Acrylics Pastels and Mixed-Media Paintings, Ceramics Etched Gourds, Sculptures, Mosaics, Baskets Jewelry, Photographs, Fine Crafts, Lithographs, Etchings and Monoprints |
